Fun burger place! My family had burgers, I ate pie. It all was great. Fun, relaxed atmosphere with stools at the counter.

Very cool spot. Unique space with good burgers. I like that they cook the burgers right in front of you. No fries, just chips. That's pretty cool. Give it a try if you are in town.

What a fascinating experience! I ordered two smash burgers with full condiments and a strawberry shake. The food was fantastic! The burgers were tasty and the strawberry shake was full of flavor and very silky in texture. In addition, my server Derrick was very kind and welcoming. I enjoyed my experience at Nick’s Hamburger Shop!

Totally forgot to take a few pictures of my meal. Guess I'll need to stopnin again very soon, to snap a couple pictures of my food.

Not only was this my first time at Nick's Hamburger Shop, but it was my first time in SD. Arrived the evening before and by the time I was settled in at the hotel Nick's was closed otherwise I would have gone twice. Nick's brings back the feeling of small town goodness where everyone knows one another. Luckily when I arrived there was a seat open. By the time I was leaving (just after noon), folks were waiting for a seat. Great little cheeseburgers. In my mind I could have eaten a dozen but I settled for a couple and an excellent chocolate malt. I wish I lived closer, I'd be here all the time. Already looking forward to my next trip to Nick's.

To say this is anything less than perfect would do a disservice to the entirety of Brookings, South Dakota. Perfect food. Perfect service. Perfect atmosphere. Perfect memories. This place is probably the most iconic place in Brookings history. It’s a community nexus. This place is older than 99% of people in Brookings and is going to hit its centennial anniversary in 2029 (4 years from what I’m writing this review). You KNOW I’m gonna be there when that happens.

This local joint serves up slider style burgers with a small town vibe around a retro counter that makes you really feel like a local (even though I wasn’t). To my right was an older fatherly figure getting his weekly burger fix and to my left was a family from Ohio who stopped in bc the mom wanted her kids to experience the place her own grandfather had brought her for burgers many years ago. Great nostalgia that may spark a memory even if you’ve never stepped foot inside before.

Absolutely amazing food, employees, and vibe! Everyone was so friendly especially the older gentleman there. The price is a little more than I'd like to pay, if there were fries with the food for the total price we paid I think it would have been completely fair, but in no means am I complaining. It's definitely a local owned business and they have to set the price to match the costs. Definitely worth a try! It won't be our last time there.
